You can insert, update, or delete links in the Google Docs, Sheets or Slides app.
Add a link
- Open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
- Docs: Tap Edit .
- Highlight text, tap the cell, or tap the area in the file where you want the link to appear.
- In the top right, tap Insert .
- Tap Link.
- In the "Text" field, type the text you want to be linked.
- In the "Link" field, enter a URL or email address, or search for a website.
- To save, tap Done .
Change or remove a link
- Open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
- Docs: Tap Edit .
- Tap the text, cell, or shape with the link you want to remove.
- To remove the link, in portrait view, tap Right arrow Remove link. To change the link, tap Right arrow Edit link.
Note: for Google Sheets, when a cell contains multiple links, only the first link would appear when editing the links in the cell. Editing the link will overwrite the existing links.
Add a bookmark
- Open a file in the Google Docs app.
- Tap Edit .
- Tap where you want the bookmark.
- In the top right, tap Insert Bookmark.
To copy or remove a bookmark, tap the bookmark, then tap Copy link or Remove.
