Find new filters for Looker and BigQuery in connected sheets
  • With Looker: Check if these filters are applied in their Google Sheets:
    • Looker-defined filters
    • Always_filters
    • Conditionally_filters
  • With BigQuery: Right-click any value in the connected sheets preview and filter rows based on that value. To re-fetch the preview, a new query is sent to BigQuery. This new option allows you to easily explore data in the connected sheets preview for BigQuery.

Use functions in connected sheets for BigQuery

You can show context-aware Help Centre content in Sheets for the 23 supported Sheets functions, like AVERAGE and XLOOKUP. When you create a formula that can query BigQuery, the formula shows descriptions for connected sheets functions. Otherwise, the formula shows descriptions of native Sheets functions.

Use new smart canvas features

Place chips: When you add a Google Maps place chip in your Sheet, you can open the location directly in Google Maps, and find a preview of the location or find directions.

Expanded date capabilities: Include dates in your Sheet easily by the use of @ entry point with shortcuts like:

  • @today
  • @yesterday
  • @tomorrow
  • @date
    • When you click on the date, a date picker shows up to allow you to update dates as you need.

Finance chips: Add Google Finance entities, such as stocks, mutual funds and currencies into a Sheet. Hover over the chip to preview information based on entity type.
