Fix issues when you sign in

I can't sign into Classroom
You might be trying to sign in to Classroom with the wrong account. Check that you’re using the email account connected to Classroom. You sign in to Classroom with one of these accounts:
  • School account—Also known as a Google Workspace for Education account, this account is set up by an accredited school. It looks like "[email protected]."
  • Personal Google Account—This is set up by you, or your parent or guardian. Typically, you use a personal Google Account outside of a school setting, such as a homeschool. It looks like [email protected].
  • Google Workspace account—This is set up by your organization’s administrator. It looks like "[email protected]."
Tips:
  • You must have an active Internet connection to sign in to your account.
  • If you can’t sign in with the correct email account and password, maybe your school’s administrator doesn’t automatically activate Classroom for new students and users. For more assistance, contact your teacher.
I forgot my password
  • If your school uses Google Workspace for Education—Ask your teacher to contact the admin to reset your password.
  • If you’re a student using a personal Google Account outside of a school, learn how to change or reset your password.

Fix issues when you join a class

My class code doesn't work

If the class code doesn’t work, check that:

  • You’re signed in to Classroom with the correct account. Learn how to sign in to Classroom.
  • The code you enter is 6 to 8 characters long, and uses letters and numbers. Codes can’t have spaces or use special characters.
    • Example:
      • This is an example. Do not use this code.
  • You enter the code correctly. This includes any capital letters or special characters.
    • If you’re sure that you enter the code correctly, contact your teacher as there might be a technical issue.

If you still have trouble, let your teacher know.

Tip: You only use the class code once to enroll. After you join, you don’t need to use the code again.

I forgot or lost the class code
  • To join a class, you just need to enter the class code once. After you join, you don’t need to enter the code again.
  • If you forget, lose, or delete the code before you join the class, ask your teacher to share it with you.
I don't have my class code. How can I get it?
  • Contact your teacher: The easiest way to get your class code is to ask your teacher directly.
  • Check your email: Your teacher can send the class code in an email. Check your inbox and spam folder.
I deleted my class invitation

If you lose your class invitation before you join a class, ask your teacher to send you the class invitation again.

Fix email issues

I can't send or receive email

  • If you're a student using a personal Google Account outside a school – go to Gmail Help.
I can't post a comment
Your teacher turned off posts for that class. Ask your teacher for more information.
How do I undelete a post?
You can’t undelete a post. However, your teacher can find all your deleted posts.

  5. Click Turn in.

  • For information about attachments assigned to you, go to turn in an assignment.
I can't submit an assignment

If you get the error message "Couldn't attach file" when you submit an assignment, try these different methods instead:
