With YouTube Premium, you can use YouTube and YouTube music to watch, download, and listen to videos and music ad-free, offline, and in the background. Learn more about YouTube Premium.
- Your YouTube Premium ends 6 months after you start it on Google Fi.
- At the end of 6 months, your subscription automatically renews into an individual monthly regular price until you cancel YouTube Premium.
- After you start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi, the Google Fi group owner can stop renewal or cancel your subscription at any time.
How to check your eligibility
If you’re subscribed to the Unlimited Plus plan on Google Fi, you’re eligible for this offer. You must keep your Unlimited Plus active throughout the subscription. Learn how to check your YouTube Premium subscription status.
On Google Fi, you can’t start your 6 months of YouTube Premium if you’re:
- Under the age of 13.
- On a Google Workspace account that has YouTube blocked.

How to start your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi
Each member must start their 6 months of YouTube Premium individually on Google Fi.
- On your mobile device, go to fi.google.com/account#plan.
- For iPhone and iPad users:
- To sign in to fi.google.com, they must use a web or mobile browser.
- To subscribe to YouTube Premium, they can use their Google Fi username and password.
- For iPhone and iPad users:
- Go to your "Member Profile.”
- In the “Devices & Subscriptions” list, tap YouTube Premium Get started.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
After you start your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi, you can manage your access at fi.google.com/account#plan.
Manage your YouTube Premium subscription
When your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi ends, your subscription automatically renews into an individual monthly regular price. You can find this subscription on your monthly Google Fi bill.
Members of Google Fi can deactivate their own renewal but can’t reactivate renewals. Managers of Google Fi plan can deactivate or reactivate renewals for plan members.
To manage a plan:
- On your mobile device, go to fi.google.com/account#plan.
- Select a Google Fi member’s profile.
- In the “Devices & Subscriptions” list, tap YouTube Premium.
- At the end of your 6-month subscription, tap Do not renew or Renew.
When you change your renewal selection, it doesn’t affect your 6 months YouTube Premium terms.
How to change or pause your Google Fi planOn Google Fi, you can switch plans once a month, with changes effective in the next billing cycle.
Unavailability of YouTube Premium occurs if you:
- Switch from the Unlimited Plus plan to the Simply Unlimited or Flexible plan.
- Pause your Unlimited Plus plan.
When you resume active service on the Unlimited Plus plan, YouTube Premium becomes available again.
If you pause or switch your plan in the 6-month period, this end date still applies.
After you start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi, any existing YouTube Premium individual subscription billed by YouTube transfers to Google Fi automatically.
If your current YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium subscription is billed through another platform like Apple or Google Play:
- You can start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
- Your existing YouTube Premium subscription doesn’t change.
- You must cancel any other YouTube Premium subscriptions to avoid double billing in your YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
If you're an existing YouTube Premium subscriber:
- You can save your YouTube Premium music library and playlists.
- Your library and playlists remain available even if you make changes to your subscription.
- Rates and discounts that apply to YouTube Premium may not be available after your subscription ends.
- You can’t get a refund for any unused parts of YouTube Premium subscriptions after it starts on Google Fi.
Tip: At the end of your current subscription, you can cancel the renewal and start YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
A family member shares YouTube Premium with you
- You can still start your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
- You remain a member of your Google Family and all shared Google services stay available to you.
- Your YouTube Premium subscription transfers to Google Fi.
- Your Google Family members can continue to use the YouTube Premium subscription.
Manager of a YouTube Premium family subscription
Before the manager of a YouTube Premium family subscription begins their YouTube Premium on Google Fi, they must cancel their family subscription.
When you cancel your family subscription:
- Any family members that you share YouTube Premium with lose YouTube Premium.
- Your account saves your YouTube Premium music library and playlists.
- The libraries and playlists stay available even if you make changes to your subscriptions.
- Rates and discounts of YouTube Premium may not be available when your subscription ends.
- After you start YouTube Premium on Google Fi, you can’t get a refund for unused parts of your previous subscription.
Tip: At the end of your current subscription, you can cancel the renewal and start your YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
If you’re a Pixel Pass subscriber, you already have YouTube Premium as part of Pixel Pass.
At the end of your Pixel Pass subscription period, you can start your 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi.
If you decide to continue with YouTube Premium on Google Fi after 6 months, you’re billed $13.99 USD per month through Google Fi. If you’re a Google Fi group plan owner, you’re also responsible for your group’s YouTube Premium monthly charges. The YouTube Premium monthly charges are billed at $13.99 USD per user through Google Fi.
If you’re interested in a YouTube Premium Family plan, you can enroll for up to 5 members at $22.99 USD per month. To start a YouTube Premium Family plan, all members must live in the same household and be part of the same Google Family group.
If your group is eligible for a YouTube Premium Family account, you must:
- End the active YouTube Premium subscriptions on your Google Fi account or group plan before you sign up for the family plan.
- Turn off auto-renew for each member and wait for their current 6 months of YouTube Premium on Google Fi to end.
In your Google Fi account or app, under the “Devices & Subscriptions” section, you can manage your YouTube Premium subscription on Google Fi’s Unlimited Plus plan.
After all active YouTube Premium subscriptions on your Google Fi account or group plan ends, you can start a YouTube Premium Family account on YouTube. Learn how to set up and manage a YouTube family plan.
Cancel your YouTube Premium plan
After your subscription ends, you give up the time you have left in your 6 months of YouTube Premium. To end your YouTube Premium on Google Fi, contact Google Fi support.
