Call forwarding & caller ID

You can set up call forwarding and change your outgoing caller ID info.

Set up call forwarding

You can forward the calls you receive to a separate number. Here's how to add or edit a number:

  1. Open the Google Fi websiteor app Fi.
  2. In the "Home" tab, under "Phone settings," select Call forwarding.
  3. Add or edit a number.
  4. You'll be asked to verify the number. Follow the onscreen steps to complete verification.

Tip: Some carrier providers may not support receipt of one-time password (OTP) through SMS. To receive an OTP, use the “Verify by call” option instead.

Block your outgoing Caller ID info

You can block your outgoing Caller ID info for specific calls:

Dial: *67 + the phone number.

*67 applies to one call at a time. You need to use *67 each time you want to block your info.

*67 doesn't prevent the display of your information when you dial certain numbers, like 911 or toll-free numbers.

Use caller ID by Google

On Android phones, caller ID by Google shows names for people and businesses not saved in your contacts. For example, if a participating restaurant calls you, your phone shows the restaurant’s name. You can turn caller ID by Google on or off. This doesn’t affect whether your number shows when you call.

Add a custom caller ID

At this time, Google Fi doesn’t support custom outbound caller IDs.

If you want to change your outbound caller ID to “Wireless Caller” or to just your phone number, contact Google Fi support.
