You can change your phone number after you’ve started using Google Fi. Keep in mind that some area codes are in high demand, so if you change your number we can’t guarantee that you’ll get the same area code.
Important:
- After you change your number, your old number is deactivated and made available for reassignment. This means a new user can receive your old number in the future.
- If you wish to keep your number, you can choose to transfer your number to another Google Fi account, or to a different carrier.
- Changing your Google Fi number doesn’t require fees.
- To ensure a smooth transition of your services to your new number, we require accounts to have a zero balance. To proceed with changing your number, if you have any outstanding balances, make a payment.
