Pause or resume data for a Flexible group plan

Owners and managers of a group plan can pause data service for any member:

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app Fi.
  2. Under "Your group plan," select Manage Plan.
  3. Select Pause Data.

Check out this tutorial:

Pausing data will take up to 10 minutes and impact Google Fi cellular data service only. While data service is paused, members will only be able to access data services and receive MMS messages, including group messages, when connected to WiFi.

You can choose to pause members' data service indefinitely or until the end of the billing cycle. If you choose the latter, Google Fi data service will resume automatically when the next billing cycle starts.

There might be delays between receiving a usage alert, choosing to pause data service, and actual data service cutoff for a member. The group plan owner will be responsible for any data usage charges incurred by the member during this period.

You can resume data service at any time:

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app Fi.
  2. Under "Your group plan," select Manage Plan.
  3. Select Resume Data.

Check out this tutorial:

Members will receive an email and a notification if their cellular data service has been paused and/or resumed.
