Although your first priority in any storm is your safety, all of your electronic devices should fare well with a bit of precaution and preparation.
Here are a few tips to help protect your Fiber devices before and during an electrical storm:

Invest in a good surge protector and make sure your Fiber devices are plugged into it.

In a severe storm, consider unplugging all of the electronic devices in your home, including Google Fiber devices.

If you live in an area where electrical storms occur regularly, consider installing a surge protector at your home's electric service panel to protect all the circuits in your home. Although home-wide surge protectors can fail, they're typically easier and less expensive to replace than damaged or destroyed devices or recorded content that can't be recovered.
If you've unplugged a Fiber device at any time for any reason, plugging it back in completes the power cycling process. If power cycling does not resolve the problem, contact GFiber customer support.
