You can quickly scan documents in Files by Google and save them as searchable PDFs.
Scan documents with the Files app
- On your Android device, open Files by Google .
- At the bottom right, tap Scan .
- Point your device’s camera at the document you want to scan.
- A blue outline indicates where the picture will be cropped.
- Take a photo of the document that you'd like to scan.
- To enable automatic capture, you can either select Auto capture or Manual.
- When you preview your scanned document, you can:
- Adjust scan area: Tap Crop and rotate .
- Adjust the colors or make the image greyscale: Tap Filter .
- Remove unwanted objects: Tap Clean .
- Scan multiple documents at once: Tap Add .
- Retake the photo: Tap Retake .
- Delete a page: Tap Delete .
- Once the scan is complete, tap Done.
- You can find your scanned doc under “Recents” on the app homepage, or find them in the Scanned folder.
Tip: Scanned documents are automatically saved as PDFs.
Find your scanned documents
You can find your scanned documents in a dedicated "Scanned" folder in the "Downloads" directory.
- On your Android device, open Files by Google .
- Tap Documents Scanned.
Tip: If you can't find your scanned PDF files, you can also type pdf
in your search bar.
