Track your fitness activity

You can track your walks, runs, bike rides and more on Google Fit. Check how many steps you took and see how long you rode your bike, played football or went skiing.

You can see your workout history on all devices where you use Fit. If something isn’t accurate, edit the activity.

What you can measure

  • Time
  • Steps
  • Calories
  • Distance. Note: Distance isn't tracked for stationary cycling.
  • Weight. Note: Enter your weight manually to track it.
  • Elevation. Note: Elevation is only tracked for certain outdoor activities.

To see the distance that you've gone, or how many calories you've burned, fill in your height, weight, age and gender.

Get real-time stats

You can see live info about your activities, such as pace during a run.

Fit might use sensors available on your device to help calculate these metrics.

  1. On your phone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  2. Tap Add Add data and then Track workout Start activity.
  3. To select the activity that you’re about to start, tap the Down arrow Down arrow.
  4. Tap Start workout.
    • If you're riding a bike, carry your phone in your pocket. Tracking will be more accurate than if your phone is mounted or in a backpack.

You'll see stats, such as time, steps, calories, distance, elevation and more.

Hear real-time stats

  1. On your phone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  2. At the bottom, tap Profile.
  3. At the top, tap Settings Settings.
  4. Under 'Workouts', tap Spoken announcements.
  5. Choose to turn announcements on or off, the frequency of announcements and other settings.

Delete your data

Delete your activity

  1. On your Android phone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  2. At the bottom, tap Profile.
  3. At the top, tap Settings Settings.
  4. Tap Manage your data.
  5. Next to the type of data that you want to remove, tap Delete.
  6. Confirm that you want to delete the data.

Delete your location data stored in Fit

  1. On your phone, open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  2. At the bottom, tap Profile.
  3. At the top, tap Settings Settings.
  4. Under 'Google Fit data', tap Delete history and then Manage data.
  5. Next to 'Location', tap Delete and then Delete.
