Walking, running and cycling detection isn’t perfect on Fit, because your device’s sensors may record information in a different way to others.
You can try to fix problems with how Fit tracks an activity.
Change Fit’s permissions
Google Fit uses data from your phone to estimate your activity. To get more accurate estimates, turn on location and activity tracking.

Get a more accurate calorie count
If you didn't enter your height and weight in Fit, calories are based on default measurements. For a better estimate of the calories that you burn, update your info.
- On your iPhone, open the Google Fit app .
- At the bottom, tap Profile.
- Tap your height or weight measurement to change it.
- Tap Done.
