This feature is available on watches and trackers that support contactless payments.
To help keep your Fitbit device secure, turn on the device lock in the Fitbit app. You'll be prompted to enter a personal 4-digit PIN code to unlock your device. If you set up Google Wallet, the device lock is turned on automatically and you’re prompted to set a code.

If you set up Google Wallet, the device lock is turned on and you’re prompted to set a personal 4-digit PIN code when you add a payment card for the first time.
To turn on the device lock without setting up contactless payments:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab Devices your device.
- Tap Device Lock.
- Find the option to set a 4-digit PIN code.
When device lock is on, your Fitbit device locks when you're not wearing it. Enter your PIN code when you put your device back on your wrist or if it's been more than a day since you last entered your PIN code. If you only want to be prompted to enter your PIN code when you're ready to make a contactless payment, change the device lock setting to Enabled for Google Wallet Only.
To change the device lock setting:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab your Devices your device.
- Tap Device Lock.
- Tap to change your device lock setting.
Reset or change the PIN code for your device:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab Devices your device.
- Tap Device Lock.
- Find the option to change your PIN code.
If you enter an incorrect PIN code 10 times, you're prompted to unlock your Fitbit device with your paired phone.
To unlock your device with your phone:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab Devices your device.
- Tap Device Lock.
- Find the option to reset your PIN code.
