Manage School time on Fitbit Ace LTE

Important: This feature requires an active Ace Pass subscription.

Learn how to set and manage School time on your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE. Use School time to minimize distractions by restricting access to games and Bit Valley and silencing notifications.

To avoid distracting your child in class, you should enable School time. While enabled, your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE doesn't ring, receive incoming calls, or receive message notifications. Your child can still call and message you if they need to.

Set up School time in the Fitbit Ace app

  1. Open the Fitbit Ace app .

  2. Find your child’s card and tap Settings .

  3. Tap School time .

  4. Turn on Weekly schedule.

Manage School time

To adjust your child’s school time schedule:

  1. Open the Fitbit Ace app .

  2. Find your child’s card and tap Settings .

  3. Tap School time .

    • To set a weekly schedule, turn On Weekly schedule at the top of the screen. Turning this off disables School time.

    • To change which days have school time, turn the school days On or Off for that day.

    • To set or change the start and end time, tap into a day to adjust the schedule.

Set a lunch break

When you set up breaks, School time is temporarily disabled during the specified time period.

  1. Open the Fitbit Ace app .
  2. Find your child’s card and tap Settings .
  3. Tap School time .
  4. To set a lunch break, turn the setting On . Turning this off disables the lunch break.
  5. Select a start and end time.
Note: Lunch break can’t be set if the School time schedule is less than 15 minutes. Only a single lunch break period can be set for all school days.

Why can’t I call my child during School time?

To avoid distracting your child during class, Fitbit Ace LTE doesn't ring or receive incoming calls when School time is turned on. The option to call is disabled on your child’s card in the Fitbit Ace app. You can still send your child a message, but the notification is silenced.

In an emergency, most schools recommend that you contact the school directly and ask to get a message to your child. If that's not an option, you can turn off the School time feature to make a call.

If you use the Family Link app, you have the option to "Change for today."

Manage School time in Family Link

  1. On your compatible device, open Family Link .

  2. Select your child.

  3. At the bottom center, tap Controls .

  4. To temporarily change School time, select Change for today.

    • To turn off School time for today, keep the Starts and Ends slider off.

    • To change the School time hours for today, turn the slider on and select the new hours and then tap Done.

  5. To make changes to the weekly schedule, select Edit weekly schedule.

    • Use the slider to turn the weekly schedule on or off or set a new time for the listed days of the week. Tap Save.

  6. Changes takes immediate effect on your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE if their watch has connectivity.

Changes to School time settings in Family Link is reflected in the Fitbit Ace app.
