Step 5d: Upload a file to Google Ads Editor

After all the campaigns have undergone their conversions and there are no more campaigns requiring add-ons, you can upload the resulting campaigns in a file that can later be used to upload the campaigns in Google advertising.

For a detailed guide to working with the Google Ads Editor, please follow this link: Google Ads Editor Help.

Instructions

  1. Click on the Upload to file button.
  2. Check the uploading results.

The following information about the advertising campaign is uploaded to the file for each campaign.

  1. Settings (include a list of regions, daily budget, dates of launch end of the advertising campaign, etc.).
  2. Ad groups included in the ad campaign. For each ad group of an advertising campaign, the following is recorded:
    • List of keywords
    • List of extensions
    • Bid
  3. Advertising campaign ads.

After the upload is complete, the upload status of each campaign will be displayed. The CSV file containing the campaigns will be downloaded to your computer. You can upload this file to your Google Ads account using the Google Ads Editor application.

Upload campaigns to Ads Editor

After uploading ad campaigns in the CSV file format, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Ads Editor.
  2. Enter the login and password of the Google Ads account where you want to upload campaigns.
  3. From the main menu, select Account> Import> From File.
  4. Click Finish and Preview Changes.

Google Ads Editor automatically detects certain errors that might prevent posting. The system uses yellow icons for warnings, and red for errors. Items with a red icon need to be edited.

To edit them:

  1. Open the list of items.
  2. Review the list of items requiring changes.
  3. Correct any errors.
  4. After correcting any errors, publish your changes.

If your campaigns are found with issues that may violate Google's ad policies, you will be prompted with a message.

You must change the items or submit an exception request.

To test your changes and submit any exception requests, navigate to the element with an error (highlighted in red). You will see a yellow message at the bottom of the window, highlighted with a red exclamation mark. There you will find instructions on how to correct the possible violation and (if necessary) a field for filing an exception request.

With the error or warning line highlighted to request an exception for one of the Google Ad rules, select all the items you want, and then select the Request exception check box.

After correcting any errors, publish your changes.

Go to your Google Ads account, test, and then launch your campaigns.
