How data sharing works with Performance Max for marketplaces

To run a campaign that advertises the products sold on a marketplace, marketplace sellers and marketplaces need to link their Google Ads accounts. Link requests are sent by the marketplace.

If you’re a seller advertising products on Google with Performance Max marketplace, you’ll need to go to Google Ads and approve the marketplace’s link request.

When the accounts are linked, data is shared between them. You’ll have access to:

  • Details related to the marketplace’s Google Ads account - the account name, customer ID and email address.
  • Conversion data from the marketplace’s website - performance metrics related to conversions.

The marketplace will have access to:

  • Details related to your Google Ads account - the account name and customer ID.
  • Data from campaigns that send traffic to their website - performance and spend metrics related to ad impressions, clicks and conversions.
