About Google Ads business data sharing

The business data sharing setting helps you control how your account-level Google Ads data is shared across Google business products.

Note: The business data sharing setting started rolling out globally in January 2024 and is expected to reach general availability by March 2024.

How it works

When the setting is turned on, you’re giving Google permission to access Ads business account data and provide you with more relevant recommendations across Google business products, including Google Analytics, Business Profile, and Merchant Center. Recommendations can be based on shared account-level data from you and anyone else you’ve authorized to access your Google Ads account. This data can include information about the Ads products and features you use, how you’ve set up your accounts and trends in your campaign spending.

You’re in control of the data you share, so you can opt out of business data sharing at any time by toggling the data sharing setting off.

Adjust your Google Ads data sharing settings

Use the following steps to update your settings and data sharing preferences:

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Admin icon Admin Icon .
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Under “Data sharing”, the setting will be on by default and shares account-level data with other Google business products.

To stop sharing your account-level data, turn off the data sharing preference toggle button.
