Advertisers in Brazil must add their tax ID (CPF or CNPJ) when creating their payment profile. Accounts set as "Individual" must confirm their CPF number and date of birth, while accounts set as "Organization" are required to verify their CNPJ before completing the payments profile creation.
You may also be required to verify the CPF information of your existing Google Ads account. If you receive an email or alert about this issue, follow the steps below.
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon .
- Click Settings.
- Click Payer details.
- Next to "Brazil tax info", click Edit.
- Update your CPF and date of birth.
- If the info is already filled in, re-enter it.
- Click Verify.
- Update the address if needed.
- Click Save.
Common errors when trying to verify tax information in Brazil

CPF
- You must have a valid and “regular” CPF. Check your CPF status at Receita Federal and fix any issues before trying to verify your CPF in Google Ads.
- Check if the date of birth added matches the Receita Federal records and in the correct format for your language selection (DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY).
- If your CPF is new, validation may fail. You’ll need to wait 3–5 days until your CPF details are available at Receita Federal to be validated.
CNPJ
If your CNPJ is new, validation may fail. You’ll need to wait 3–5 days until your CNPJ details are available at Receita Federal to be validated.
