Understanding Google Ads Credit Adjustments For Technical Issues

Eligibility for Credit Adjustments

In some Google Ads circumstances, we may provide credit adjustments to your account. These types of credit adjustments are different from refunds and adjustments.

Our decisions about credits are made on a case-by-case basis and depend on the particular issue and the impact to your account. We may consider credits when a technical issue has resulted in unintended behavior. All credits are final and made at our sole discretion.

Below are some situations we will not consider credits for:

  • Ads performance: We do not guarantee you will always meet your target or intended performance and will not consider credits for poor performance.
  • Underspend or underdelivery: We do not consider credits for when you are unable to create new ads or optimize delivery. We also do not consider credits when a product issue has resulted in ads not serving or ads not spending your daily budget.
  • Reporting: We do not consider credits for issues with reporting and insights in relation to inaccurate or missing data caused by system bugs.

Credit Processing

Following resolution of the issue, we will evaluate the extent of the impact and process credits as soon as possible. It typically takes at least 30 business days to issue the final credits.

The credit will be applied directly to your impacted accounts and will be visible on the Billing Summary page once processed. If you’re on monthly invoicing, you should also see this reflected as a line item on your monthly invoice for the month when the credit was applied.
