About the 'Asset coverage' table

Assets are content pieces that make up your ad with useful business information – giving people more reasons to choose your business. Assets include the headlines, descriptions, links to specific parts of your website, call buttons, location information and more that come together to make up the eventual ad format that is shown to a user.

In order to help you choose the best assets for your ads, the 'Asset coverage' table helps you to find gaps in your assets and fix the gaps that would make the most impact on your account’s Ad strength.

Benefits

The 'Asset coverage' table:

  • Provides actionable advice to help you increase your ad strength
  • Highlights areas of your ads that have the largest opportunity to reach customers
  • Recommends assets to improve your ad strength

How it works

Excellent asset groups have all asset types including optional ones that won’t impact inventory but are good for performance (sitelinks, horizontal logo, square image), excellent text diversification and excellent asset varieties (in other words, excellent breadth and depth). Learn more about Performance Max ad strength.

The more headlines and descriptions that you enter, the more opportunities Google Ads has to serve ads that match potential customers’ search queries, which can improve your ad performance.

In order to help you match those queries, the 'Asset coverage' table shows suggestions to improve your assets. The table may also show recommendations to add assets that you aren’t currently using.

Example

Let’s say that you’re running a campaign that currently has two descriptions for a campaign. The 'Asset coverage' table may suggest adding two more descriptions to achieve excellent ad strength.
