Show your display ad on YouTube

If you’d like your ads from a Display campaign to show on YouTube, you can edit your placements and have your ads appear on specific YouTube videos or channels, or on all of YouTube. You can also exclude your ads from appearing with certain video content.

If you're interested in using video ad formats designed for reaching viewers on YouTube and the Display Network, consider creating a Video campaign.

Before you begin

  • While it’s not possible to target the YouTube app directly, you can enter “youtube.com” manually when choosing a placement. You can also create a Demand Gen campaign to run your ads on the YouTube Home and Watch Next feeds (in addition to the Gmail Promotions and Social tabs and Discover).
  • You can only exclude content reactively. For example, if specific videos or channels don’t lead to better conversions for your campaigns, or they aren’t appropriate for your brand, you should consider excluding them.
Note: Display image ads do not serve on YouTube.
