If you’re new to display advertising, you may not be familiar with the dimensions of some of the most common ad sizes. This article will show you examples of ad sizes that you may choose to use.
There are two types of Display campaign ads: responsive display ads and static image ads.
Image ads
Static image ads serve ads with images that you provide. These ads do not adapt to ad slots and do not evolve based on performance. They include images as you originally provided them.
Responsive display ads
Responsive display ads are the default ad type for the Display Network. They automatically adjust their size, appearance and format to fit just about any available ad space. They adapt assets to maximise performance.
To create these ads, upload the different ad assets, including headlines, logos, images and descriptions (you may upload multiple assets of any specific type) into a single creative. Google will then render your ads and serve them across the Display Network, optimising them to build a high-performing ad at the time of the impression.
Using Responsive display ads leaves the work of creative testing and optimisation to Google, and enables you to focus on better ad performance. Learn how to create a responsive display ad
