Manage your keywords (Google Ads mobile app)

Keywords are words or phrases you choose to describe your product or service. They’re used to help you reach only the most interested people, who are more likely to become your customers. Using keywords can increase your sales and lower your costs.

With the Google Ads mobile app, you can select high-quality, relevant keywords for your ad campaigns even when you’re away from your computer. In this article, you can learn how to manage your keyword list by adding, editing and deleting words, getting new ideas for words and seeing a forecast of how your words will perform.

Add keywords

  1. From the bottom navigation bar tap More, then Keywords.
  2. Tap the plus button .
  3. Select a campaign, then an ad group for your new keyword.
  4. Tap + Add a keyword.
  5. Enter a word or phrase as your keyword, then choose the right keyword match type.
  6. Tap the tick mark Chrome mobile checkmark icon.
  7. Tap Save, or to continue adding keywords to the same ad group, tap + Add a keyword.

Edit keywords

  1. Tap pencil icon Edit setting, pencil icon
  2. Tap the keyword that you want to edit.
  3. From the bottom navigation bar, tap More, then Keywords.
  4. From here, you can change the keyword or the match type. The user can make more edits such as bid amount and status.
  5. Tap Save.

If you change the text or match type for an existing keyword, the past performance data will be visible only in removed keywords.

Remove keywords

  1. From the bottom navigation bar tap More, then Keywords.
  2. Tap the keyword that you want to remove. Tap the pencil icon Edit setting, pencil icon and tap Remove keyword. You’ll be asked to confirm before the keyword is removed.

Get keyword ideas

  1. From the bottom navigation bar tap More, then Keywords.
  2. Tap the plus button .
  3. Select a campaign, then an ad group for your new keyword.
  4. Enter a website or keyword related to your product or service.
  5. Select any keywords from the list that you want to adopt as your keywords.
  6. Tap Add, then tap Save again.

Forecast your keyword performance

  1. From the bottom navigation bar, tap More, then Keywords.
  2. Tap the plus button .
  3. Select a campaign, then an ad group for your keyword.
  4. Tap Add a keyword.
  5. Enter a word or phrase as your keyword, then choose the match type.
  6. Tap the tick mark Chrome mobile checkmark icon.
  7. Tap See estimated impact. The results will tell you how the keywords you’re about to add might affect your campaign (impressions, clicks and cost) next month.
