If you're running App campaigns, you can view reports on where your ads are shown.
This article explains how to find and create these placement reports in your Google Ads account.
Instructions
How to find a predefined placement report
- In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon .
- Click the Insights and reports drop-down in the section menu.
- Click Report editor.
- Click View all under the 'Predefined reports (Dimensions)' header.
- Click Other.
- Click App campaigns placement.
- To download your report, select Download and then select a file type.
How to create a custom placement report
- In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon .
- Click the Insights and reports drop-down in the section menu.
- Click Report editor.
- Select the plus icon next to 'Custom', and then click Table.
- Under the 'Attributes' segment, select App campaigns placement or enter App campaigns placement in the search bar.
- Drag and drop App campaigns placement into "Row".
- Under the “Performance” segment, select Impressions or enter Impressions in the search bar.
- Drag and drop Impressions into “Column”.
- You can also add filters to your report by selecting Filter and the filter types.
- To download your report, select Download and then select a file type.
For now, impressions are the only performance metric available in App campaign placement reports.
Placement categories
- Google Owned & Operated refers to sites owned by Google, like Gmail, Play, Discover and the YouTube homepage.
- App name & publisher refers to the app’s display name, linked to its page on the Google Play or iTunes App Store.
- Website URL: This refers to the primary domain address of the website.
- Video title: This refers to the specific video’s display name, linked to the target URL. Unavailable videos have 'Video no longer available' as the display name.
