This article explains how to create and edit text ads on the Google Ads mobile app. To create or edit a text ad on the Google Ads website, read Create a new text ad.
To effectively reach potential customers, your text ads should be informative, relevant and engaging. Here's an example of a text ad on the Search Network.
Create a text ad
- Go to the bottom navigation bar and tap More, then select Ads.
- Tap the plus button and select Text ad.
- Tap the campaign that you want to create a text ad for.
- Tap the ad group that you want to add the text ad to.
- Enter a final URL, headline text, description text and text in the optional Display path fields.
Note: Tap the preview icon to see potential ads built using your assets.
- When you're satisfied with your new text ad, tap Save.
Before your saved ad starts showing to customers, Google Ads reviews its content and formatting to make sure that it meets our advertising policies.
Edit a text ad
- Go to the bottom navigation bar and tap More, then select Ads.
- Tap the ad that you want to edit.
- In the dialogue, you can edit:
- Final URL
- Display path
- Headlines
- Descriptions
- Tap Save. Saving the ad updates it to a new version and sends it for review. Metrics for previous versions will still be visible.
Policy issues
If you attempt to save your text ad and receive a "Policy issues" pop up, this means that your ad does not comply with the Google Ads policy. The pop-up will detail which policy issues are active in your ad. Tap FIX ERRORS and then make changes to your ad to comply with the Google Ads policy.
