About Google Ads account viewing preferences

Your Google Ads account viewing preferences allow you to personalize the data you see when you sign in to your account. These preferences are set as you navigate through the Google Ads UI, and are saved automatically so that your UI has the same appearance next time you log in.

Keep in mind: Account viewing preferences are stored for each user. For example, if one user is interested in seeing the “Cost” column in the Campaigns table, but another is more interested in “Conversions” column, they can set their preferences by selecting Modify columns and choosing the columns they want to look at.

The following are some of the account viewing preferences stored in Google Ads to help personalize your UI:

  • Date range (affects your entire account)
  • Page size (affects your entire account)
  • Home page
  • Columns in the table and their relative order
  • Segments in the table
  • Sort order of the table
  • Metrics selected in Charts
  • Filters applied to the table
  • Saved filters
  • Saved column sets
  • Metrics selected in Overviews cards

Cross-account viewing preferences

If you use a Google Ads manager account, your viewing preferences are synchronized across the accounts within your manager account. For example, if you update the date range in one account, the same date range will be applied to all accounts within your manager account. Google Ads started saving these preferences at the manager account level since October 2019.

The following account viewing preferences are synchronized across accounts within your manager account:

  • Date range
  • Page size
  • Home page
  • Synchronized across accounts by table and campaign type:
    • Columns in the table and their relative order
    • Segments in the table
    • Sort order of the table
    • Metrics selected in Charts

Preferences set at the table level, such as the columns in a table, are synchronized across accounts by table and campaign type. This means, for example, that the display campaign report in one account will have the same columns as the display campaign report in other accounts within your manager account.

Note: Your preferences are stored in the manager account where you’re signed in. If your drill down to a sub-manager or client account, and then change the columns you’re viewing, these preferences will be applied to all other accounts under the manager you logged into. Your UI preferences will also appear the next time you sign in to the same manager account.
