Resume campaigns, ad groups, and ads

This article explains how to get your ads up and running by resuming your campaigns, ad groups, or ads.

Even if a campaign has been enabled and you see the green dot , you’ll also want to check if the ad groups and ads within it are enabled.

Instructions

1. Resume a paused campaign

  1. Click Campaigns on the left-side menu.

  2. Look for campaigns with the paused icon . These campaigns and all their ads are no longer running.
  3. Check the box next to one or more paused campaigns to select them.
  4. Click Edit, and select Enable.

2. Resume a paused ad group or ad

If your campaign is enabled, but your ads aren’t running, check the ad groups or ads within it.

  1. Click Campaigns on the left-side menu.
  2. Click on the campaign that you want to check.
  3. Select Ad groups or Ads on the left-side menu.
  4. Check the box next to the paused ad groups or ads you’d like to enable.
  5. Click Edit, and select Enable.

  1. Click Campaigns on the left-side menu.
  2. Click on the campaign that you want to check.
  3. Select Ad groups or Ads on the left-side menu.
  4. Check the box Blue check box icon for selecting ad campaigns next to the paused Pause icon for ad campaigns ad groups or ads you’d like to enable.
  5. Click Edit, and select Enable icon for ad campaigns Enable.

Other issues

Remove a campaign

You can permanently delete any enabled or paused campaigns:

  1. Click Campaigns on the left-side menu.
  2. Check the box Blue check box icon for selecting ad campaigns next to the enabled Enable icon for ad campaigns or paused Pause icon for ad campaigns campaigns that you’d like to permanently remove. 
  3. Click Edit, and selectRemove.
  4. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm.

Restore removed campaign

You can’t enable a campaign that you’ve removed, but you can recreate it using a simple copy and paste:

  1. Click Campaigns on the left-side menu.
  2. To see your removed campaigns, click “Campaign status: All but removed” above the table columns and next to the filter icon, and select All.
  3. Check the box Blue check box icon for selecting ad campaigns next to the removed campaigns that you want to recreate.
  4. Click Edit, and select Copy.
  5. Click the paste icon that now appears above the table columns.
  6. Select Pause new campaigns after pasting.
  7. Click Paste.

A new campaign will now appear as paused. To get it running, click the paused button Pause icon for ad campaigns and change it to enabled Enable icon for ad campaigns.

Remove an ad group or ad

 You can permanently delete any enable or paused ad groups or ads: 

  1. Go to your Ad groups or Ads page.
  2. Check the box Blue check box icon for selecting ad campaigns next to the ads you’d like to remove.
  3. Click Edit, and select remove.

Restore removed ad group or ad

You can’t enable an ad group or ad that’s been removed, but you can recreate it using a simple copy and paste: 

  1. Go to your Ad groups or Ads page.
  2. To see removed ad groups or ads, click “Campaign status: All but removed” above the table columns and next to the filter icon, and select All.
  3. Check the box Blue check box icon for selecting ad campaigns next to the removed ad groups or ads you want to recreate.
  4. Click Edit, and select Copy.
  5. Click the paste icon that now appears above the table columns.
  6. Select Pause new ad groups (or ads) after pasting.
  7. Click Paste.

A new ad group or ad will now appear as paused. To get it running, click the paused button Pause icon for ad campaigns and change it to enabled Enable icon for ad campaigns.
