If you see this error message and you're running McAfee antivirus software on your computer, there might be a conflict between the antivirus program and Google Ads Editor.
To resolve the issue, access your McAfee scanning settings and exclude the directory that contains Google Ads Editor's log files. The directory information is below, where [username] is your username:
- Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Google Ads-Editor\Profiles
(If the Profiles folder isn't visible, open Windows Explorer and select Tools > Folder Options > View. Select Show hidden files and folders.) - Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Google\Google Ads-Editor\Profiles
If your antivirus program doesn't allow you to exclude individual directories, you might need to adjust your McAfee scanning settings to scan Programs and documents only instead of All files.
