You can remove negative keywords individually, or you can remove multiple negative keywords at once.
Remove individual negative keywords
- Select Keywords and Targeting > Keywords, Negative.
- Select one or more negative keywords to remove.
- Click on Remove.
Remove multiple ad group negative keywords
- Select Keywords and Targeting > Keywords, Negative.
- Click on Make multiple changes.
- Next to "Bulk Change Action", select Remove.
- Type or paste the data to remove in the grid.
- Click on Process.
- To continue, click on Finish and review changes. To cancel the operation, click on Revert and cancel.
- To add the pending changes to your account, click on Keep. To undo the changes, click on Reject.
Remove ad group negatives while adding or updating other keywords
You can use the Make multiple changes tool to change the status for multiple keywords and negative keywords at once. Simply include match type and status information in your keyword list, and Google Ads Editor will add, update and remove keywords as you specify. Here's a sample keyword list:
- red shoes, exact, 0.50, http://example1.com, removed
- blue shoes, negative, 0.30, http://example2.com, removed
- new shoes, negative, 0.80, http://example3.com, enabled
- used shoes, exact, 0.70, http://example.4.com, enabled
If you enter this list into the Make multiple changes tool, the first two keywords will be removed, and the last two keywords will be added or updated. Notice that the list includes both positive and negative keywords. Learn more about editing your keywords.
Remove multiple campaign negative keywords
- Select Keywords and Targeting > Keywords, Negative.
- Click on Make multiple changes.
- Next to "Bulk Change Action", select Remove.
- Type or paste the data to remove in the grid.
- Click on Process.
- To continue, click on Finish and review changes. To cancel the operation, click on Revert and cancel.
- To add the pending changes to your account, click on Keep. To undo the changes, click on Reject.
Remove some campaign negatives while adding others
You can use the Add Multiple Campaign Negative Keywords tool to remove multiple campaign negative keywords while adding others. Simply include the new status (removed) in your keyword list, and Google Ads Editor will add and remove your campaign negative keywords all in one step. Here's a sample keyword list:
- red shoes, removed
- blue shoes, removed
- new shoes, normal
- used shoes, normal
If you enter this list into the Add Multiple Campaign Negative Keywords tool, the first two keywords will be removed and the last two keywords will be added.
Find and remove multiple negative keywords with Advanced Search
- Click on the search menu icon > Search builder.
- From the drop-down menu, select Any.
- From the next drop-down menu, select contains.
- Type in your keyword, then click on the search button.
- Select Keywords and Targeting > Keywords, Negative in the type list to view all the keywords that match your search.
- Select the keywords that you’d like to remove and click on Remove. You can repeat these steps to find and remove multiple keywords.
