Users engage with a set of favorite Assistant experiences such as Media, Productivity, and Answers. They also use third-party services via Android Apps. You can use an Android app, or a Conversational Action built by a developer that allows unique voice-based interactions, to ask Google to do things like:
- Start a workout.
- Order food.
- Hear a story.
Conversational Actions will no longer be available as of June 2023. For more information, please visit our announcement page.
Things that you could do with phrases like “Talk to…,” for games, stories, and education, will no longer be available. You may notice this change across many of the devices you use Assistant with such as speakers, smart displays, and mobile phones.
Many popular Assistant experience won’t be affected by this change, such as:
- Answering questions
- Playing music and videos
- Calling
- Timers
- Smart home control
- Launching and controlling Android apps
Beginning in mid-May 2023, Assistant will let you know when you try to use a Conversational Action that’s no longer available.
