Follow these guidelines when using, installing, or cleaning your thermostat:
- Be careful not to drop the thermostat while installing it.
- Ensure that the 2 electrical connectors on the bottom of the base plate are aligned correctly before you attach the base plate. The display should click into place to confirm it’s properly attached.
- Do not install or store the device or its accessories in dusty, smoky, damp, or dirty environments, or near magnetic fields.
- Don’t install the thermostat where people in the household or pets may unintentionally strike or bump into the device.
- Keep it away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight.
- Don’t leave your thermostat in places where the temperature may exceed 113° F (45° C).
- Don’t insert objects in the thermostat that may block the vent holes. This may cause damage to the ambient temperature and humidity sensors.
- Consult an HVAC professional for proper installation.
Operating Temperature
- Keep the temperature between 0°C (32°F) - 35°C (95°F).
Care & Cleaning
Important: Do not spray Nest thermostats directly with water or use cleaning solutions or polishes, as doing so may damage your thermostat. Avoid abrasive materials that may cause damage to the product surface.
- Lightly dampen a soft, clean cloth with water.
- Wring out any excess water from the cloth.
- Gently wipe the display and sides of the thermostat, making sure no drops of water accumulate around the ring or on the grill at the bottom of the display.
- Use a dry cloth for streaks, smudges, or dust.
Service & Support
Unauthorized repairs or modifications could result in permanent damage to the device and may affect your warranty coverage.
