Diagnostic and other data collected on Google Pixel Buds

Diagnostics

We are constantly looking to improve the experience that you have with Pixel Buds. To evaluate the reliability, usability and use of various features, the Google Pixel Buds app reports information about how you use the app and headphones.

Specifically, the Google Pixel Buds app collects and reports anonymised data about how you use the headphones, including:

  • Information about gestures that you may use (increasing volume, decreasing volume, answering calls, ending calls)
  • Bluetooth® connection and disconnection events
  • Crash events.
  • Additional diagnostic and usage data

If you'd like to disable this, you can uncheck the 'Send Diagnostics' tick box when you first set up the device or turn it off in your Google Pixel Buds settings.

  1. Depending on your device, you can change the settings for your earbuds in different ways:

On a Pixel phone with Android 10+: Go to Settings and then Connected devices and then tap Settings Settings by your paired Pixel Buds name.
On other Android devices: Open the Google Pixel Buds app Pixel Buds.

  2. Tap More settings and then About and then turn off Send diagnostics.

Note: Turning off 'Send diagnostics' won't affect your Google Assistant settings
