1. Set up your buds
Learn how to set up and manage your Pixel Buds with your phone, tablet or laptop.
On your Pixel device
Important: This works with Android 6 version and later.

On your computer
- Open the earbuds case, but keep the earbuds inside.
- On your computer, make sure that Bluetooth is on.
- Press and hold the pairing button until the light starts to blink for three seconds.
- Tap Google Buds Connect.
Get the latest firmware updates on your device
On your phone
Make sure that your Pixel or Android phone is on the latest firmware version and your Pixel Buds app is on the latest version.
To check on Pixel:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Connected devices Settings More settings Firmware update.
For other Android devices:
- Download the Pixel Buds app from Google Play Store.
- Tap Pixel Buds app More settings Firmware update.
On your computer
The Pixel Buds Pro web companion app is compatible with ChromeOS, MacOS and Windows. Make sure that you update to the latest version.
- For ChromeOS: Install the Google Pixel Buds web companion app from the Google Play Store.
- For MacOS and Windows: Go to mypixelbuds.google.com.
2. Try your earbuds
Pixel Buds are designed to provide a high-quality and comfortable listening experience. Learn how to adjust Pixel Buds to best fit your ears.
- When you wear your buds, make sure that the 'R' and 'L' icons face towards you and are upright as you tuck them in your ear.
- To secure the stabiliser, twist your earbuds.
- If needed, try another eartip.
Tip: Each ear might need a different eartip size.
- To test different sizes that might be even more comfortable, save your eartips.
3. Learn about gesture controls

4. Store and charge your buds
Learn how to store and charge your Pixel Buds.
- To charge your earbuds: Insert them into the correct slots until the indicator light turns on and the lid closes. To assist with re-insertion, you'll find left and right icons for each earbud.
- To charge your case: Plug it into a power source. An orange light on the case indicates that your case is charging.
Tip: Your Pixel Buds charge inside a charged case even if it's not connected to a power source.
5. Clean your Pixel Buds
To get better audio quality and consistent charging, clean your earbuds regularly.
To clean the exterior of the charging case and the inside of the case's magnetised pods, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any liquid to clean the inside of your case.
To clean your earbuds, remove the eartips and use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean both earbuds. This includes the charging contacts, eartip and mesh area of the snout. Do not let liquid or moisture get into any holes. After you clean the earbuds, connect the eartips firmly to the buds.
