(1) Power button with fingerprint sensor

The power button is located on the edge of the tablet, close to the rear camera.

  • Turn on the tablet: Press and hold the power button.
  • Lock or wake the tablet: Press the power button.
  • Unlock the tablet: With the tablet locked:
    • Press the power button and then enter your password, pattern or PIN.
    • Once you've set up a fingerprint, touch your finger against the power button without pressing it.

  • Turn off the tablet: Press the power button and volume up button at the same time and then tap Power off.
  • Restart the tablet: Press the power button and volume up button at the same time and then tap Restart.
  • Activate digital assistant: Press and hold the power button.

(2) Volume control

The volume button is located on the top edge of the tablet, close to the rear camera.

  • To increase your tablet's volume, press the side of the volume button closest to the power button.
  • To decrease the volume, press the side of the volume button furthest from the power button.
Tip: Once you set up your digital assistant from Google, you can use your voice to increase or decrease the volume.

(3) Rear camera

The 8-megapixel rear camera has a fixed focus and 84° field of view. On the front side of the tablet, above the screen, there's another 8-megapixel camera.

(4) USB-C port

Your Pixel Tablet has one USB-C port. Use this port to connect your tablet to an external device, or to a USB 2.0 cable and power adaptor to charge it.

(5) Dock connectors

When you attach your Pixel Tablet to a Charging Speaker Dock, these connectors attach to the pogo pins on the face of the Charging Speaker Dock.

(6) Quad-speaker audio system

The four built-in speakers provide sound for your Pixel Tablet when it's not attached to a Charging Speaker Dock.

(7) Built-in microphones

The Pixel Tablet has three built-in microphones for calls, recordings and Google Assistant.

(8) Grip pads

The two pads on the bottom edge of your Pixel Tablet can provide grip on some surfaces.

Charging Speaker Dock

You can purchase a Pixel Tablet that comes with a Charging Speaker Dock or purchase a dock separately. The dock plugs into a wall socket and your tablet charges automatically when it's attached to it.

Power adaptor and cable for the dock

If you purchase a Pixel Tablet and a Charging Speaker Dock, a power adaptor and cable to power the dock are included. Attach the adaptor to a wall socket, plug the other end into the dock, then attach the tablet to the dock to charge it and use Hub Mode.

Check the battery icon on your tablet's screen to check when your tablet is charging. The icon will change from Low battery Low battery to Battery charging Battery charging. You can also check the battery percentage.
