Transfer data from your iPhone or iPad to your new Pixel Tablet in a few steps.

1 Some third-party apps and data might not be transferred automatically. For more information, learn what to do when you can't copy data to a new Pixel Tablet.
Important: Contacts, calendars, and Google Keep notes that you copy to your Pixel Tablet will sync and upload to your Google Account online. Your Google Account info syncs when you sign in to your account on your Pixel Tablet.
What you can access after Pixel Tablet setup
After you set up your Pixel Tablet, you can use a transfer cable or Wi-Fi to transfer the following types of data to your Pixel Tablet when you sign into each service:
- Music from subscription services like Spotify or Apple Music
- Non-Google accounts and their data, including contacts and calendar events
- Passwords from Google Password Manager (if you use the same Google Account)
- LINE contacts and 2 weeks of chat conversations
- Progress that you've made in some gaming apps or websites
- Photos, videos, documents, and other files stored in iCloud

What won’t copy from an iPhone
- In-app purchases
- Network settings, such as Wi-Fi passwords
- Music with Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection
- Safari® bookmarks
- Apps that aren't available on Google Play
- Some app data, such as data that isn't stored in the cloud
Transfer data to your new Pixel Tablet
Important:
- A Google Account is recommended. You need one to download apps, and some content won't copy to your Pixel Tablet without one.
- If you have a Charging Speaker Dock, make sure to undock your Pixel Tablet before you transfer or copy data from another device using a cable. Learn how to undock your Pixel Tablet.
Make sure you have the following:
- Fully charged iPhone or iPad
- New and charged Pixel Tablet
- Strong Wi-Fi connection
Step 2. Prepare your iPhone or iPad for transfer
If an organization, like a business or school, manages your iPhone or iPad, you have to:
- Log-in with a personal ID.
- Remove the organization account for the data transfer to work.

Important: Beta versions of iOS are not supported for data transfer to Pixel Tablet.
You're ready to set up your new tablet:
- Turn on your Pixel Tablet tap Get started.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Important: You need to be connected to a network for data to copy from your iPhone or iPad.
- On your Pixel Tablet, tap Start.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- When asked to “Copy data from your iPhone or iPad,” tap Next Copy your data.
- When asked to “Use your old device,” tap Next.
- Turn on and unlock your iPhone or iPad.
- Plug one end of your iPhone charging cable into your iPhone or iPad.
- Plug the cable's other end into your Pixel device or into the Quick Switch Adapter and plug the adapter into your Pixel device.
- Tip: Don't have a cable? You can transfer some of your data wirelessly, but cable is recommended because it transfers more data types.
- On your iPhone or iPad, tap Trust.
- On your Pixel device, a list of your data types appears.
- Uncheck the boxes next to the items you don't wish to copy.
- Tap Copy.
- Sometimes the amount of iPhone storage will trigger a capacity warning because it may include system files or linked iCloud data.
- If you're sure that all your on-device data can transfer, ignore the warning and continue.
- On your iPhone, tap Settings General iPhone Storage to see how much on-device storage is being used.
During transfer, you may continue setting up your Pixel Tablet. Once transfer is complete, review the transfer summary screens to see results and tips on how to transfer any missing content.
After transfer, your apps may not appear immediately as they need to download and install.

Get more tips and support
The data transfer process can take anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour. While you wait, you can manage other settings, like Fingerprint Unlock or Google Assistant. To set them up later, tap Skip.
