You can use your phone's mobile data to connect your Pixel Tablet to the Internet when you don't have access to a Wi-Fi network. When you share a connection this way, it's called tethering or using a hotspot.
Some mobile data providers limit data usage or charge extra when you tether to other devices. We recommend that you check with your provider before you activate these features.
Connect your Pixel Tablet to your iPhone's hotspot with Wi-Fi
- On your iPhoneⓇ, turn on Personal Hotspot. Learn how to set up a Personal Hotspot on your iPhone.
- On your Pixel Tablet:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap Internet tap the name of the hotspot.
Tether your Pixel Tablet to your iPhone with Bluetooth
1. Turn on Bluetooth on your Pixel Tablet
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the Settings app .
- Tap Connected devices Connection preferences Bluetooth.
- Turn on Use Bluetooth.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone
- On your iPhoneⓇ, turn on Bluetooth. Learn how to set up and use Bluetooth on iPhone.
3. Pair your Pixel Tablet to your iPhone
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the Settings app .
- Tap Connected devices Pair new device.
- Tap the name of your iPhoneⓇ Pair.
- Note: If you get a prompt on either device, tap it to finish pairing.
- Your iPhone'sⓇ Internet connection will automatically be shared with your Pixel Tablet once you pair your devices successfully.
Tether your Pixel Tablet to your iPhone with a USB cable
1. Connect your devices with a USB cable
- If you have a Charging Speaker Dock, undock your Pixel Tablet. Learn how to undock your Pixel Tablet.
- Use a LightningⓇ to USB or a USB cable to connect your iPhoneⓇ to your Pixel Tablet.
2. Turn on USB tethering on your Pixel Tablet
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the Settings app .
- Tap Network and Internet Tethering turn on USB tethering.
- Your iPhone'sⓇ Internet connection will automatically be shared with your Pixel Tablet.
Important: Mac computers can't tether to the Pixel Tablet with a USB cable.
