If you don’t have a Charging Speaker Dock or plan to use your Pixel Tablet away from your dock, you can change your settings and background activities to help your Pixel Tablet’s battery last longer.
Turn on Battery Saver or Extreme Battery Saver
Turn on Adaptive Battery
Adaptive Battery learns from your tablet's usage to continuously optimize how apps use battery. To extend battery life, it may reduce performance and delay notifications. To turn it on:
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Tap Battery.
- Tap Battery saver Adaptive battery turn on Use Adaptive Battery.
Avoid actions that keep the screen on continuously
- Turn off your screen when you're not using it.
- Let your screen turn off sooner automatically:
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Tap Display & touch Screen timeout.
- Choose a shorter timeout.
- Avoid watching videos or playing graphics-heavy games.
- Turn on Dark Theme:
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Tap Display & touch turn on Dark theme.
Turn off high drain features
- Close the Camera app when you are not using it.

- Turn off tethering and hotspots when you're not using them. Learn how to use a hotspot on your Pixel Tablet.
Limit automatic syncing
You can save battery by turning off auto-sync for your Google Account or individual Google apps. But your data won’t automatically refresh while auto-sync is off, and some apps won’t work properly. Learn how to stop syncing your Google apps.
