Get 2 years of data for your smartwatch on us when you buy any Pixel Watch 3 (LTE) from Google Store.1 To activate this service, you will receive a unique activation link via the email address you provided at checkout.
Eligibility
Google Pixel Watch 3 LTE purchased in the United States¹ (except Alaska) on Google Store online or in-store from August 13, 2024 or later are eligible to redeem 2 years of data and texting service.
Important: To use a Google Workspace Account on Pixel Watch, you must turn off "Device Management." Learn how to manage these Google Workspace Account settings.
What’s included
- 4G data speed
- Get up to 500 MB of data per month. After reaching the data limit, the speed will slow to 256 kbps. Data usage is capped at 1 GB per month and roaming is not supported.
- Texting
- Texting syncs your watch with your phone using the Google Messages app over the internet, which allows your watch to send and receive texts using your current phone number and phone’s carrier.
- Voice calls are not supported.
Transferability
The benefit cannot be transferred to another device because the activation link is tied to the specific eligible watch that was purchased. The benefit can be transferred to another person by forwarding the unique activation email to them, such as by gifting the watch to another person.
If you purchased the device on a secondary account (like a Google Workspace account) that is different from the primary account that you have linked to your Pixel Watch, then you will need to forward the unique activation email from your secondary account to your primary account.
Activation
- To activate the benefit, follow the instructions in the email that you receive from Google Fi Wireless. For online orders, the email will be sent to you sometime before the device arrives. For in-store orders, the email will be sent to you shortly after you purchased the device.
- Skip the cellular activation in the initial watch pairing and setup by selecting Not Now.
- On your phone that’s paired with your watch, follow the activation link in the email.
- The Pixel Watch app will open and start the activation process.
- You must activate your service within 60 days of shipping to receive the full 2 years of service. The 2 years of service start from the activation date.
Note: After two years of service, your watch will need a standalone data plan from a carrier, such as Google Fi Wireless, for full connectivity. Contact Google Store Support for any questions.
- If you’re having trouble activating your device using the activation email, please note that the activation link is specific to the device you purchased (the device’s IMEI). If you bought multiple devices, make sure that the IMEI mentioned in the activation email matches the IMEI displayed in the device settings. You can refer to Find your Pixel Watch IMEI and serial numbers for assistance. If activation issues persist, please reach out to Google Store Support.
- If you bought a Pixel Watch 3 LTE in person at the Google Store or your Pixel Watch LTE has arrived but you didn’t receive an email about two years of data from Google Fi Wireless, please reach out to Google Store Support.
Troubleshooting
My data won’t activate
Ensure that you have completed the following steps:
- Pair your Pixel Watch 3 LTE with your phone.
- Restart your watch and phone.
- Open the activation email on your paired phone.
- Tap the activation link in the email.
- Follow the subsequent steps.
Note: Make sure the IMEI in your activation code email matches the IMEI of your ordered watch, especially if you ordered multiple devices.
You need to be in a ZIP code that offers Google Fi service. Check if you are in an eligible location.
How can I tell if my watch data is working?
- In your watch’s settings, you can check which cellular provider your watch is using. It should indicate either “Google” or “Google Fi”.
- On your Google Pixel Watch, swipe down tap Settings .
- Tap Connectivity Mobile SIM Status.
- When you’re out of Bluetooth range of your phone, your watch should activate cellular connectivity and continue to access the internet.
I activated another carrier service, but now I want to redeem my two years of data from the Google Store. What should I do?
- On Google Pixel Watch, swipe down then tap Settings .
- Tap Connectivity Mobile SIM status
- For any eSIM profile not called “Google”, remove the profile by going to Settings Connectivity Mobile Advanced Reset eSIM.
- Make sure to deactivate your other carrier service if you pay separately.
- If a profile called “Google” appears, don't remove it. That is the profile that gives you 2 years of data and texting.
- If a profile called “Google” doesn’t appear, follow the instructions in the email that you receive from Google Fi Wireless.
I received a notification that my watch carrier doesn’t match my phone carrier. What should I do?
Does my watch allow me to make calls?
Yes. To begin, pair and configure your Google Pixel Watch with your phone.
Note:
- Your watch must be within Bluetooth range of your phone. When they are separated, you are unable to make calls on your watch.
- You can’t have two carriers on the watch at the same time.
How does texting work on my watch?
Texting syncs your watch texts with your phone using the Google Messages app over the internet. This allows your watch to send and receive text messages from your phone using your current phone number and phone’s carrier.
Note:
- You need to have texting service from your primary carrier on your phone for this to work.
- It's not possible to have two carriers on the watch at the same time.
- Your watch doesn’t have a separate number. Your texts use the phone number on your phone from your main carrier.
- Your phone must be on and connected to the internet.
- You don’t need to have the phone and the watch next to each other or connected through Bluetooth.
