Manage and control your Nest camera from the comfort of your wrist. Connect to your Nest camera and doorbell from your watch in order to:
- Access live video feed from your camera or doorbell
- Receive notifications to check the live camera footage
- Perform quick actions, including 2-way talk and Quick Responses
What you need to get started
- Google Pixel Watch
- Nest camera or doorbell
- The latest version of the Google Home app
Live view
Nest cameras and doorbells send real-time notifications directly to your smartwatch, like an alert whenever motion is detected. With a simple tap, you can access the live camera feed directly on your watch screen.
- To access the live view, tap the Camera device tile
select the camera you want to view.
- When you open the camera app, you'll have a close-up view that fills your watch screen. Double tap on the screen to zoom in for a closer look or zoom out to show more of the scene.
- To pan the zoomed in camera view, press and slide one finger to the left or right.

2-way talk
2-way talk lets you talk to people through your camera even when you're away from home.
- To access 2-way talk, open the live view and tap the
at the bottom of your screen. This will open the menu with the 2-way talk button.
- Tap the microphone
icon to turn on 2-way talk. The camera will chime on the other end. This lets the person in front of the camera know you're about to communicate. You may then talk to begin your conversation.
2-way talk is active as long as the microphoneicon is on the screen.
- To hang up, tap the microphone
at the bottom of your screen. This will open the menu with the 2-way talk button.

If you need to quickly respond to people from the camera’s side, the Quick Responses menu will provide you with a list of buttons that trigger voice responses.
- To access Quick Responses, open live view and tap the
button to open the list of responses.
- Tap one of the buttons, like “You can just leave it” or “We’ll be right there.” This will trigger the corresponding voice response for the other end.
Receive Nest camera alerts
If you enable alerts for supported Google Nest Cameras in the Google Home app, you can receive notifications with image previews on your watch as well. This feature is available for Nest cameras and doorbells launched in 2021 or later. To ensure you receive notifications on your watch, check that you've enabled Nest camera alerts in the Google Home app and notifications on your Google Pixel Watch or compatible Wear OS watch.
Animated notification previews require Wear OS System UI version 1.4 or higher to be installed on your watch. Go to the Check for updates help article for details on how to update your watch and apps.
Fix issues with your Nest Camera on your watch
You might have a problem with your watch when using a supported camera:
- You don’t see live camera streams.
- When using a supported camera/doorbell notifications say Open on phone versus Open on watch.
- Tapping on the camera leads to the message Control more features on your phone screen.
Important: Before trying any of the steps below, make sure your Google Home app is up to date. Refer to Update the Google Home app.
1. Update all apps
- Tap the crown to open the app launcher.
- Scroll down towards the bottom and tap Manage Apps.
- Tap Update all.
Note: If the changes are not immediately present, you may need to wait 4 hours and restart your watch to allow the configurations to be updated and applied.
2. Force close the app
If your Google Home app version is 2.27.65.4 or greater and you still don’t have access to the experience:
- Try force stopping the Google Home app.
- On your watch, press and hold the app icon in the app launcher
