Use offline Maps on your Google Pixel Watch

Use Google Maps offline to navigate, track your location and access other helpful information right from your Pixel Watch.

Note: Make sure that your Google Maps app is updated to version 11.144.0705 or higher. Offline maps is currently rolling out over the coming weeks.

Download a map to use offline

         

Note: Offline maps might not be available in certain places due to various reasons, such as legal restrictions, language differences or address formatting issues.

Using the phone or tablet paired with your Pixel Watch:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Make sure that you're connected to the Internet and signed in to Google Maps.
  3. Search for a place, like Southampton.
  4. At the bottom, tap the name or address of the place and then tap More Moreand thenDownload offline map. If you searched for a place like a restaurant, tap More Moreand thenDownload offline map and thenDownload.

The watch will automatically sync offline Maps from your phone when the watch is on the charger. You can also manually sync to the watch by opening Google Maps on your Pixel Watch and then Offline Maps and then Tap to download on the map that you wish to sync. 

Google Pixel Watch is compatible with Android devices only. Your watch will only sync offline maps from your paired device. If you have multiple devices, you may have different offline maps on each device.

Sync your Google account to your watch

  1. On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app .
  2. Tap SettingsSettings and then Google and then Accounts.
  3. Select Add Account Gmail Compose Plus Icon.
  4. Sign into your account. 
  5. Follow the on screen instructions to add your account.

Use offline maps

Once you've downloaded a specific location, you can use Google Maps as usual. If you have a slow connection signal or go offline, you can still use the downloaded map to navigate as long as your entire route is within the downloaded area.

Note: Public transport, bicycling or walking directions are unavailable offline. In your offline driving directions, you won't have access to real-time traffic updates or alternative routes.
