Frequently Asked Questions

What is Google Play doing with respect to users in sanctioned regions, including Crimea, so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LNR)?

We are committed to complying with all applicable sanctions and trade compliance laws and we continue to monitor the latest guidance. Users in affected regions will still be able to use Google Play, including downloading free apps, but unable to make purchases.

Will users be able to access previously downloaded apps and in-app purchases if they live in a region that has been sanctioned?

Users should still be able to access content they’ve previously downloaded or purchased through Google Play.

What will happen to a subscription if the user is from a sanctioned region?

At the end of the billing cycle, the user's subscription will be canceled.

My bank has been sanctioned or has suspended its operations. How can I receive my earnings?

If you’re having issues receiving payments, we recommend that you use an alternate payment method, such as an account from another bank or an eWallet that accepts payments. You can check for alternate payment methods by adding a new payment method to your account. Once the payment method is updated, you will receive your earnings in the next payment cycle.
