With App Indexing, users who installed your app can open links from Google mobile search directly in your app.
Request association between your app and your website
To enable App Indexing, you first have to set up deep links. After that, you can create an association between your app and the website that contains the content of the app. Below are the steps to start requesting an association:
- Sign in to Play Console.
- Click All apps.
- Select the app where you'd like to request the association.
- On the left menu, click Setup > Advanced settings.
- Under "App indexing," click Add website.
- Enter the homepage's URL. We recommend omitting the protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) and writing only the domain name (for example, "abcxyz.com").
- Click Send verification request.
- A request will be sent to the owner of the site in Search Console. If the Play Console and the Search Console account are the same, the association may be immediately auto-approved. Otherwise:
- If you are an owner of the site in Search Console, you can click "Accept" in the message and then approve the request. You can also go to Google Search Console associations page and approve the request from there.
- If you're not an owner of the site in Search Console, you'll have to wait for an owner to approve your request.
Note: If there are multiple Search Console properties associated with this site (for example, there are Search Console properties for both "http://abcxyz.com" and "https://abcxyz.com") and you requested association without a protocol (for example, "abcxyz.com"), Google Play will choose one of these Search Console properties to associate with.
Remove a website association
There are two ways to delete an association and you only need to process one to remove or disassociate the websites.
