In June 2020, we introduced the new Google Play Console, and in November of the same year, we began to discontinue the old Play Console. Now, all developers will use the new Play Console, which you can visit here: play.google.com/console.
What's changed?
We’ve designed the new Play Console to be more helpful. Its responsive design means that you can use it across all of your devices. Here are some of the changes that we've made:
- Reorganised Releases overview – production is now at the top level, and we've grouped all testing tracks. Internal app sharing can also be found under Setup.
- Increased speed, performance and UI (user interface) tweaks – updates include resizable text boxes, notifications for unread messages and refined headers on mobile devices so that spaces are used efficiently.
- We launched Inbox– your personalised messaging area featuring helpful information, policy updates, feature recommendations and more.
- New Publishing overview – this page lets you see what changes are in review.
- New Managed publishing – it gives you control over your launch by allowing you to decide when approved changes are actually published.
- Updated Acquisition reports – this section is overhauled to help you understand your performance over time. To learn more about how it has changed, visit the Measure and analyse your app's acquisition article.
- Google Ads campaign – you can still link to your Google Ads account for conversion tracking and remarketing lists, but Google Ads campaign reporting and account notifications will now be available exclusively in Google Ads.
- Easier search and navigation – you can now search across Play Console, making it easier to find pages and features quickly.
- More secure access – we also announced last 2020 that all Play Console users will need to use 2-Step Verification.
