You can use Google Play Books to download and read eBooks on more than one device. You can also upload files and print books.
Buy and download eBooks
You can search and buy available eBooks from play.google.com.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open a mobile browser, like Safari open play.google.com/store/books.
- Sign in to the same Google Account as the one that you have on your Google Play Books app.
- Search for an eBook or browse recommendations.
- To learn more about an eBook, tap the cover image.
- To download the eBook, tap the price Buy eBook.
- To read a sample, tap Sample.
Important: You can't buy or rent eBooks using the Google Play Books app on your iPhone and iPad. Instead, tap Add to wishlist . Then, complete your purchase in a web browser. Learn more about your wishlist.
Viewing options
Tip: Not all eBooks offer more than one viewing option.
Depending on the book, you can view an eBook as:
- Original pages: Read the book in a fixed-page layout that usually matches the printed edition.
- Flowing text: Change display options like font, text size and line spacing.
Open and read the eBook on your Google Play app
- On your iPhone or iPad, download the Play Books app at no charge.
- Open the Google Play Books app .
- Sign in to the Google Account that you bought your eBook with.
- At the bottom right, tap Library.
- Select your eBook.
- To change the font, text size or other formatting, at the top, tap Display options .
- To jump to a chapter, bookmark or note, at the bottom, tap Contents select a chapter or section.
Find samples of eBooks at no charge
- On your iPhone or iPad, make sure that you’re connected to the Internet.
- Open the Google Play Books app .
- Choose an action:
- To find recommended books, tap Home.
- Tap a book.
- To start reading, tap Sample.
Upload files and print books
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Files folder.
- Tap Open with Play Books app.
- Read your content.
Tip: You can only print eBooks using your computer.
