Manage your family on Google

You can add family members who:

• Live in the same country as you.
• Are at least 13 years old (or the applicable age in your country).
  • Children under 13 can only be added if the family manager created the child's supervised Google Account.

Tip: When someone joins your family group, you'll get an email notification.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google One app .
2. In the top left-hand corner, tap Menu   Settings  Family settings.
3. Tap Manage Google family members  Create family group.
4. To add family members and set up a Family Library, follow the on-screen instructions.

Learn about the roles that you set when you create a family group.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Google Assistant .
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial  You  Your people  Add person.
3. Select the person you want to add to your family group.
4. Turn on Family group.
5. Confirm their email address and tap Use this email  Save.

If you're the family manager, you can remove people from your family group in several ways.

Important: Children require supervision:

• To remove a child under 13 years of age (or the applicable age in your country) from your family group, you must either delete the child's supervised Google Account or transfer supervision to another parent.
• To remove a supervised user who's above the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your country) from your family group, you must stop supervision for that user. That user can later choose to start supervision again.

To remove any other user from your family group:

1. Go to g.co/YourFamily.
2. Select the family member that you want to remove.
3. Select Remove member Remove.

The person that you remove from your family group:

• Keeps their Google Account and any content on their device purchased with the family payment method.
• Can't make new purchases with the family payment method or access any services that your family group shares.
• Receives an email alert when they're removed.
• Loses access to anything in your Family Library.
• Loses access to your shared storage if your family shares a Google One membership.
  • If they're out of storage, their files stay safe but they can't store new things. Learn what happens when they run out of space.
  • Loses access to extra member benefits and Google experts.

If the person that you remove:

• Made a purchase with the family payment method and it's already in progress: You're still charged, but you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
• Added content to the Family Library: If you set up a Google Play Family Library, any content that they added is removed and other family members lose access to that content.

To remove a supervised child from the family group: 

• You must delete their Google Account if they are under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) and you created the Google Account for them.
• You must remove their account if you created their Google Account when they were under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) and you have provided consent for their continued use of their Google Account.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Google One .
2. Tap Menu  Settings  Family settings.
3. Tap Manage Google family members.
4. Tap the family member who you want to remove  Remove member.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Assistant app .
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial  You  Your people.
3. Tap the family member you want to remove.
4. Turn off Family group.
5. At the bottom right, tap Save.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If you're the family manager, you can delete your family group in several ways.

1. Go to g.co/YourFamily.
2. Find and select Delete family group.

Before you can delete a family group that includes a supervised child, you need to delete their Google Account if they are under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) and you created the Google Account for them.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google One app .
2. Tap Menu Settings.
3. Tap Family settings Manage Google family members.
4. If asked, sign in to your Google Account.
5. Tap Menu Delete family group.
