To make reading comics easier, you can make speech bubbles bigger and expand your comic to fill the whole screen. Bubble Zoom is available for Marvel and DC collected volumes in English and some popular comics in Japanese.
Important: Bubble Zoom is not available on computer.

Find out if a comic book has Bubble Zoom
- On your iPhone or iPad's browser, go to play.google.com/store/books.
- At the top, search for a comic.
- Tap the comic.
- Scroll down to Additional Information.
- Under Bubble Zoom, check if it says Enabled.
Turn Bubble Zoom on or off
If you turn off Bubble Zoom, it will turn it off for all the comics on that device.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Play Books app

- Open a comic.
- Tap the centre of the page.
- At the top, tap Display options

- Turn Bubble Zoom on or off. If there's no option to turn it on or off, Bubble Zoom is not available for that comic book.
Text. Zoom in and move through speech bubbles
You have to be in full-screen mode to move through speech bubbles.
- Move forwards: Swipe up, tap the right side of the screen.
- Move backwards: Swipe down, tap the left side of the screen.
- Make a text bubble bigger: Double-tap a speech bubble.
Expand your comic to fit your screen
You can make sure that a comic takes up your whole screen when you hold your device on its side.
Tip: Bubble Zoom doesn't work if you're reading the comic expanded on its side.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Play Books app
- Open a comic.
- Tap the centre of the screen.
- Tap Display options

.Fix problems with Bubble Zoom
Step 1: Check that the comic uses Bubble Zoom
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Play Books app
- Search for the comic that you want to check.
- Tap the comic to enter the detail page.
If Bubble Zoom is available but isn't working, try the steps to fix book loading issues. If that doesn't work, go to step 2.
Step 2: Check whether Bubble Zoom is working
- On your iPhone or iPad, go to a page with speech bubbles on it.
- Tap the screen, or swipe up or down.
- If a bubble gets bigger, the feature is working.
- If it doesn't get bigger, go to step 3.
Step 3: Check if Bubble Zoom is on
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the comic that uses Bubble Zoom.
- Tap the centre of the page.
- Tap Display options
Step 4: Contact Google
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Play Books app
- At the top right, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Help and feedback
- Describe your issue.
- Tap Send
