Itinerary date selection falls into 2 categories: Default dates or user select dates (non-default dates).
- Default dates: Dates selected without user input. These dates are constantly moving and variable based on a user’s queried itinerary. Factors incorporated in results include availability, pricing, and hotel location.
- Note: Exceptions apply on some queries such as queries for properties nearby a user’s existing location. In such situations, default dates will automatically assume the user is seeking a same-day check-in.
- Non-default dates: Date selection applied by the user. These include dates that have been previously selected by the user in a previous visit or session on Google.
