How to appeal a decision

At this time, the opportunity to file an appeal is available to some users and content owners. If you have filed a request to remove allegedly illegal content and we decided not to take action, or if you are a content owner whose content has been removed or restricted, you may have the opportunity to file an appeal. If you are eligible to do so, you will receive the necessary information either in the notice informing the outcome of  your original request or, if you are a content owner, in the statement of reasons explaining our reason for removal.

For those eligible to file an appeal, most* appeals should be filed within 6 months of receiving a decision on a notice (for users reporting illegal content) or content removal/restriction (for content owners). Once we have made a decision on the appeal, we will inform you of the outcome and provide a reason for the decision.

*Appeals related to copyright or trademark claims may be filed at any time.
