To find emails sent to you, turn on indicators in Gmail. Indicators add arrows next to emails sent to you.
Learn how indicators work
For emails:
- Sent to you and a group: A single arrow (
) displays.
- Sent to you only: A double arrow (
) displays.
- Sent to a mailing list: No arrows display.
Turn on indicators
- On your computer, go to Gmail.
- At the top right, click Settings

- Under “General,” in the “Personal level indicators” section, click Show indicators.
- At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
