Snooze emails until later

When you snooze an email, the email is removed from your inbox temporarily in Gmail. Your email comes back to the top of your inbox when you want it to, whether that's tomorrow, next week, or in the evening.

Snooze an email

Important:

  • When you turn on notifications, you receive a reminder when a snoozed email reaches the specified time.
  • When you turn off notifications, you don't receive reminders for snoozed emails.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
  2. Open an email.
  3. In the upper right, tap More and then Snooze.
  4. Choose a later day and time to get the email.

Tip: To snooze multiple messages:

  1. Select the messages.
  2. At the top right, tap More and then Snooze.

Add “Snooze” as a swipe action

To quickly snooze messages in your inbox with a left or right swipe, add "Snooze" as a swipe action.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
  2. At the top left, tap Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Inbox," tap Inbox customizations and then Mail swipe actions.
  4. Tap Right swipe or Left swipe.
  5. Tap Snooze.
  6. At the top right, tap Done.

Find snoozed emails

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
  2. In the top left, tap Menu and then Snoozed.

Tip: To search for snoozed emails, at the top, in the search bar, enter in:snoozed.
