[intended_country]
attribute is provided, any country code in the feed label is ignored.Best practices
These best practices can help you go beyond the basic requirements to optimize your product data for performance.
This attribute allows you to specify item by item which countries you would like to target with a given product. When this attribute is provided for a given product in a feed, any countries configured on the feed are overridden. The best time to use this attribute is when the appropriate set of countries to target for a given item is larger or smaller than the other items in the same feed but the language of the item is the same.
For example, if you feed were to include personal care items and over the counter medications, all described in English, but some of the medications are not OTC in all the countries where the personal care items can be sold, you can do the following:
- Option 1: Target only the OTC countries in the feed setup, but add a larger set of intended_countries to personal care items using this attribute.
- Option 2: Target all the countries where the personal care items can be sold with the feed, and provide narrower sets of intended countries for the OTC items.
